LOCAL WORKSHOPS IN STANFORD (FUNDED BY ROTARY ROTTWEIL)

Workshops and training continue as usual – thanks to Wilien’s hard work and steady funding from Rotary Rottweil dedicated to this purpose. Regular workshops in Stanford are at three venues weekly. Training workshops will increase as we work with more trainees and the usual once-a-term big workshop in Hermanus continues. As part of our Monitoring and Evaluation programme, we will be hosting the Phendulani Reading Quiz in Syanford in May. In addition, and we will be helping to facilitate the Phendulani reading quiz for six schools in the Overberg later this year. We are immensely grateful for this steady support from Germany, which has been ongoing for the last eight years. It makes a huge difference to the children of Stanford. We are also grateful to the principals and staff of our two schools (De Bron and Okkie Smuts) for their willingness to host CBN at regular workshops and the Creative Skills Factory who share their premises for workshops.

Workshop Report May 2025

Workshops started on 3 February 2025, after all the major school athletics.  We currently have three facilitators doing workshops in Stanford, Rachel van Rooyen, Chantel Hendricks and Wilien van Zyl. Between these three facilitators, there are three workshops a week.

Facilitator training was done in January and April, to go through each terms workshop material. Lesley started with a small group of Grade 6’s doing a writing course with them, each Wednesday after school. Workshop numbers can be seen in the tables underneath.
