FUNDING APPEALS – THANKS AND NEEDS

FUNDING APPEALS – THANKS AND NEEDS

Funding will always be a major preoccupation, and we cannot express enough gratitude to private donors in USA who have enabled the Toolbox Project to continue and who have a total understanding of the need for running expenses to keep this show on the road. The Reading Toolbox Project is coming to fruition largely because of their input. Thank you.

Douglas Murray Trust (DGMT) has given us generous support in developing particularly training and workshop systems. We are now halfway through that funding allocation and busy with the report that could enable the second part.

We are now in discussion with Rotary Chappaqua (NY State) in connection with a project with Rotary Atlantis (W Cape) to bring toolboxes to sponsored libraries there and possibly to schools who have shown interest.  This project is still in early stages.

Work with the Soweto and East Rand Do It Yourself Library movement has been paused until October due to logistical problems – one of which is funding. We need suggestions about how to fund the 20 toolboxes that are urgently needed to bring the toolboxes to children there.

Fund-raising remains a major preoccupation (and consumer of time). We were fortunate to have pro-bona business coaching from Pauline Burrows in the early part of this year, and she remains open to giving comment and advice. We thank her sincerely for her input.

But new initiatives are in the forefront of the next stage. We need a corporate funder (but so does every NPO in the country!) We shall keep at it.

For anyone interested, there is a funding button on all our website pages and particularly on the front page at:
