CBN Fundraiser 22nd November 2019

Our Children’s Book Network choir has been invited to join a group of singers from the Netherlands in joyful song next week, Friday 22nd November, at Madre’s Restaurant in Stanford. 16.00 until 18.00. The Dutch singers are led by Joke van der Weide.

The event will be preceded by a workshop led by our prize facilitator, Blaq Pearl, who will be coming to assist choir leaders Vuyokasi and Phumlani Lose in a programme of happy songs – including our own CBN song, written by the children. There will be books and stories about song and singing.

The CBN children will then proceed to Madre’s restaurant for a short programme before they are collected by the secure transport we have arranged for them, and taken home.

Guests will be invited to stay on for a brief presentation of what CBN stands for and what we are achieving with the children of Stanford South and De Kop informal settlement. There will be the opportunity to buy a ticket for a glass of local wine and a tasting of some of Madres outstanding canapes. There will also be a chance to sign up for our newly resurrected newsletter and to donate funds.

This date marks the end of exams for the children – we expect the songs to be extra happy! RSVP please to lesley@lesleybeake.co.za for catering purposes. Or phone 082 6464420.

Anyone who would like to book for dinner at the restaurant afterwards, is invited to do so by phoning Madre on 082 901 4254
