The Teen Team

img0219

We already have a splendid, eager, hard-working team of teenagers – ably led by Nyasha Makwarimba, who has worked with CBN for well over a year now.

Now we have an official Teen Team of teenagers who have volunteered to help at workshops. Each has specialized interests:

Nash Makwarimba
General help in advance with admin and planning
Music and dance
Art and Craft

Jude Victor
Art and craft
Special help with Little CBN

Jacques Rossouw
Sports coordinator and soccer skills

Siphonati Thebele and Lutho Vanqa
Special interest in isiXhosa cultural aspects and song
Choir leaders

Tamara Bronner
Art and reading to smaller children

There will be further news on possible input next year from other students at Hermanus High School. Most of the above are in Matric this year and from now onwards will be concentrating on their studies. CBN is already working on the idea of a project to ensure that we have more helpers in 2019.

We need to say a huge thank you to these young people who so willingly gave their time – and on Saturdays or in holidays too. Thank you Teen Team, one and all!

CBN is talking to Hermanus High School and the other high schools in Hermanus about forming a new team when the current Matrics begin exams and then leave school later this year. This is a project that brings great joy to the children, who are very short of heroes in their lives – and huge satisfaction to the young people who join the Teen Team. Anyone interested should contact lesley@lesleybeake.co.za as we will be starting the new team at the beginning of the fourth term for a pilot run.
