Venue: Simon’s Town Library (on main road, opposite police station and after the shops stop. It is up a steep driveway on your right and there is plenty of parking at the top)

Theme: Books and music. Early people, San, rock gongs

Start time 9.30 for children to arrive and have breakfast of muffins and hot chocolate

DAY ONE

10.00 Workshop begins

Books and stories: 10.00 to 11.00. In this session we describe the work of CBN, show some of the website and introduce the topic. We have pre-selected music to give the children an idea of the different sounds music can make and will demonstrate the rock gongs and describe them. Short presentations by croc E and Anele.

11.00 – 12.30 Group work

Writing a song (Croc E and Anele)
Working to make a group story on the iPads – (Phumla, and Lesley)
Making shadow puppets (Rosemary and Mary)

12.30 LUNCH

1.00 – 2.30 (Groups circulate)
